Beginning this year U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service will begin implementing and enforcing the remaining provisions of the Lacey Act.
This affects many HTS classifications for wood and articles containing wood or plant products. It will require importers to declare the genus and species and country of harvest of the subject products. There will be severe consequences for non-compliance, including seizure, penalties and possible criminal action.
This webinar will cover the expansion and enforcement of the Lacey Act and what will be required.
