World Trade Month has been recognized each May in the United States since 1938, and we use this month to celebrate the importance of international trade to the U.S. economy. You can take part in this celebration by participating in one or more of the educational events sponsored by government, public and private organizations and by reading our daily blog posts with interesting world trade facts.

Interesting International Trade Facts
The U.S. trade deficit narrowed by 17.8% in 2023, reaching $773.4 billion, the lowest level since 2017. This marks the first decline in four years.

The global value of digitally delivered services rose by 9% last year, far outpacing the growth of physical goods trade and other services exports. Digital trade refers to international trade digitally ordered and/or delivered.
